It makes mention that there is a minimum weight of 100 lbs (No not me. I could only dream of being anywhere near that :) ) for the parasailing at Casataway Cay. If you have a child that is under that weight do you double up with them so it is over 100 lbs?

That's what DD 12 and I did this past August, she wanted to go parasailing, but was under the weight minimum so we went tandem. I think there might also be an age minimum, but I don't have my excursion book handy to check up on that.

I just found my excursion booklet. Minimum age is 8 years of age, children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent.

Thanks Andy...

DW and DD can go. I'll hold onto DW's glasses. Do NOT want her hanging around the men's washrooms afterwards :)

LOL!!! I didn't lose my glasses on the parasailing excursion, but be very careful if DW goes on the Banana Boat Ride, that's where my glasses fell into the sea.

:hyper:

Just a little word of caution as I don't like to see children disappointed without being slightly forewarned. All parsailing is done at the discretion of the boat captain and if it is a particularly strong wind they sometimes won't let people go tandem I don't know what the odds are but it might be worth exploring your options if your daughter will only be able to go tandem. we went in dec and everyone on our boat got their chosen flight but I have seen posts that say otherwise.

GRUMBO -

DD AND I went tandem on 12/26. DD was 8 (now 9) and weighs 61 pounds. I will only confirm that together we were over the 100 pound mark (without glasses). :) We had a great time and DD never batted an eye but there was another young lady on our boat (about 11-12) who opted out at the last minute. Her father really tried to convince her but was equally supportive when she firmly said she had changed her mind. I think after Erin and I went up she was regretting her decision but her father and teenage brother handled it well.

This was one of DD's Christmas presents and a memory of a lifetime!!

Now, please don't get me started on the Banana Boat!! What was I thinking????

When I made our ressies for DD12 1/2, I was told she had to be accompanied by an adult so I signed up DH:D But the CM said he would just need to be along in the boat. Does he have to go tandem with her and what is the weight limit if he does? Please don't tell me I'll have to be doing this one!!!

The maximum weight limit is 375 pounds.

Will they allow her to go alone if Dad is in the boat? She's 5'3" and about 100 pounds.
