Question re making ADR's

Hi, I know there is another thread asking ADR questions but I didn't want to hijack their thread so if someone could help me with the following I would be grateful.

As we are staying off site I will need to ring each day 180 out for each ADR I need right?

When I ring do I say I would like ADR for Chef Mickeys, date, for 6 people @ time?

questions re this....

Can I say "earliest time available for tea"? or do I have to be specific?

If I have to be specific where can I find out what time a place opens for tea, lunch and breakfast?

We are a group of 4 adults a 2.5 year old and a baby, so are we a table of 6 or a table 5 with a high chair?

If we are included as a party of 6 and kids are eating off our plates will tip be included on bill? (just so I don't pay it twice.)

Do I have to request a highchair when making ADR?

Well, I'll attempt some of the answers. You can say I want Chef Mickeys at such and such a time for 6 people, they will either say yes they have it or no they don't they have a different time. You can certainly say the earliest tea time and they'll tell you what they have. They'll ask you if there are any children in your party and their ages, so you can tell them you need a high chair, and I believe if you stay off site you can call at 180 days out so you would have to call back repeatedly. Hope that helps.

I usually stay on site so I could be wrong, but I believe you are correct that you need to call each time at the 180 day mark. The 180 day + 10 rule is for Disney resort guests.

When you call, just let them know you need to make an ADR for the day you are calling for and they will walk you through it, but yes, telling them the restaurant and number in your party and the approximate time you wish to dine is what they will need from you. They will also ask for your phone number at the start of the call.

You should be able to ask for the earliest time available for tea. They should also be able to tell you start times for different dining times, ie breakfast, lunch, tea, etc.

As for the questions regarding children, my son is 16, so haven't done the high chair thing any time recently enough to be of any use to you. Sorry!

Just wanted to chime in about the high chair. When I made our reservations for our May trip, I told them it was 5 adults and an infant in a high chair - so they marked us as a party of 6. It will be obvious on the bill if they have included the tip since you're a party of 6 - but as a rule of thumb, if you order for the baby you will definitely have the tip included, otherwise, I doubt it.

Just one more thing. I know it's "tea" in the United Kingdom but here in America, I'm not sure everyone knows that that is. So having your times (like between 2 and 4? - I don't know what time "tea" is in the UK) would be better.

A highchair counts as a person because it will take up space. And unless you want to have the infant on your lap the entire time, than include him/her in on the seating.

Oh thanks for that, I guess it is dinner???? (evening meal) would like as close to 5.00 as possible a little earlier doesn't worry me as by the time you get seated and eating it will be around 5.00 anyway which will keep the kids in their routine as much as possible.
