Ok, so I got an interview for one store on Wednesday. The people there are really nice and I'm hoping I get it, it's for a key-holder position.
But today, I got a call from another store for an interview. This is a pre-teen to late teen clothing store. I know for a fact they begin hiring young (I think 16) and they have had many problems with girls taking jobs and never showing up for them. It seemed like a nice place to work, aside from the fact that I'd be dealing with 10-16 year olds all day...
Anyway, I called the person back who called me, and she sounded about 16! (I'm 20) And I'm thinking to myself how weird it's going to be being interviewed by a 16 year old, but I put that aside. So we start talking and mid-way through, no excuse me or hold on, she starts talking to someone else! Laughing and gossiping...I'm thinking "hello? i'm still here!!!". So I finally get her again and she tells me I can come in tomorrow or Wednesday anytime. So I said "OK, so should I give you a time or just come in?" and she says "Well...we really want you to come in before 5" At this point I am extremely frustrated, she just said any time, and now it's before 5! So I just said "I'll be there at 4, thanks" and hung up.
Is it wrong of me to feel turned off to the job because of this? I don't know that I want to work with a group of gossipy 16 year olds who can't handle a phone call in regards to having someone new work there...What do you all think?

unless you are really desperate for a job, i wouldn't want to take that job. it sounds really...unprofessional.

Thanks for the prompt reply! That was really quick!!!
I don't think I'm going to take it, the more I think about it. I'm so used to the family atmosphere I work in now. Sure there's gossip, but we don't do it when we're on a business call, or in front of customers. Like you said, it's unproffessional. Thanks for the input! Anyone else is welcome to add!
