We are staying at the Beach Club and DH really wants to eat breakfast at Boatwright's one morning (Port Orleans) Originally we were going to rent a car, so it wouldn't have been a big deal getting there, but after seeing how ridiculously expensive it would be to rent the car and have it sit there for 90% of the time, we opted to just do the Tiffany Car transportation to and from the airport. Now the dilemma.... we have to be at Port Orleans for a 9am PS one morning.... the last time we attempted this(w/o kids) it was a huge pain to get there... we chose the park that had early opening, took the bus from our hotel there to hop onto the bus going to Port Orleans, but it took almost an hour and a half in the process. DH thinks we should just take a taxi-but would they be able to provide a car seat for my 2 yr old? I don't want to have to lug a Britax Marathon into the restaurant and then back to the hotel afterwards when we're just going to Downtown Disney after breakfast.... personally, I'd just skip the breakfast all together, but he loves breakfast there.....so I guess my 2 questions are 1/ Do Orlando taxis have car seats if requested and 2/Can anyone think of an easier way?

Thanks!!!!:wave2:

Go to bell services and ask them to get you a taxi that has a car seat.

We were in a similar boat. We were at Epcot and had to be at Cirque (DTD) by such a time. We figured wed hop a bus and get there. Not so easy anymore. We went from Epcot, TTC, got another bus, then to WL, another bus, then did the resort loop. At GF we finally gave up and said we're not going to make it in time, so we hopped in a taxi with our 2 yr old son. No car seat mind you. We did manage to get there in time. Im "used" to being in a taxi without a car seat since we cruise a lot. The cab driver never said anything about it either. I think I read somewhere that cabs are excluded from the car seat laws and buses. Dont take my word for it- I could be wrong. It is up to you. I held on to my son very tight (probably wouldnt matter in a crash). Its the fastest way to your destination and youre not going to use a car seat on the buses either. I dont know if the cab co will provide a seat, but you could call and ask. Im guessing they dont.

Cabs are exempt from the child seat belt laws. However, some cabs have car seats. A call (either my bell services or by yourself) will ensure that the cab you get does have a car seat.

Yes, there are taxis with car seats. As was said before, just tell bell services you need one and they will call one for you.

There will normally be cabs waiting in front of the Beach Club and POR. We always bring seats for the flight anyway. Some resorts are connected by boat, but not these two directly.

We usually stay at BW and there is always cabs out front. On our last trip, we used one for just that purpose - a breakfast @ Chef Mickeys. We were there in like 5-7 mins. and it cost about 8.00 with a tip.

With children it is diffently the way to go.
