Question re: FP and Tickets

I've read that they are no longer selling tickets that do not expire. Is this correct?

That is true. Beginning with tickets sold in mid-February, they expire at the end of the year following the year in which they were purchased, i.e. a ticket purchased today would expire 12/31/2018. Once the ticket expires, you can apply the amount you paid for the ticket towards the purchase of a new ticket so you won't completely lose your money if you can't use the ticket.

All tickets now expire 14 days after first use. They did away with the "no expiration" option which would allow you to use only a few days off a multi-day ticket and save the remaining days for another trip a while ago.

We are SO upset about this! We always bought 10 day non-expiration tickets and would use a couple each trip. Wouldn't have to buy new tickets every year! I guess that's why they changed it!!!

Since I didn't know about this to begin with, it doesn't much matter to me. Sorry to those of you who like to use tickets this way. I guess it lost Disney some money, as the tickets do go up in price. Everything gets more and more expensive. I have been following the Free Dinning thread this year, and found some people couldn't afford to stay on Disney property if they didn't get Free Dining, just too expensive when you add in the food costs for large families. People are either shortening their trips or staying offsite to offset their costs. I do hope folks will continue to enjoy the magic, even if they have to alter their plans to be able to do it.

Now that the OPs question was answered on the first page, closing.
