If an OKW owner elected to extend their OKW deed from 2042 to 2057, did Disney Vacation Development file paperwork with the Orange County Comptroller showing that the deed had been extended?

Earlier this month, I ran across two deed recordings on the Orange County Comptroller's website in which OKW owners were extending their OKW points from 2042 to 2057. I've been tracking DVC deeds recorded with OCC since late 2009 and these are the first and only two extension deeds I have seen. I've seen thousands of Quitclaim deeds in which OKW owners opted not to extend past 2042, but I had never seen deeds such as these two extension deeds.

I'm curious if these extension deeds are a new development, or if they have been there all along and I have never noticed them until now.

I thought, technically DVC extended all contracts at the same time.

DVC only sells extended contracts so there may be some extension activity with ROFR, or are these OKW owners that are now buying the extension?

After doing some more checking, it appears both parties originally decided not to pay for the OKW extension. There are Quitclaim deeds filed by both. I guess they had second thoughts and decided to purchase the extension. Thus, the need for a new Extended Deed being recorded with OCC.

I just haven't seen these Extended deeds before. I'm a little surprised that only two parties have changed their mind about the extension since 2008.
