Question Re: Ebay - No Communication W/buyer - When To Second Bid It?

I have a question for you guys. I have been selling for awhile, but never encountered this and need your help. I ended an auction last Monday for an item that went for a fair amount of money($71). I was kind of nervous b/c the winning bidder had 0 feedback - must have been a sign. Anyways, they ended up winning and I still haven't heard a thing from them. I have emailed them twice to no avail. I say in my auction that I will send the item after payment is received (5 days after closing). Some winners will email me asking for more time and I gladly give it, but I haven't heard ANYTHING from this winner. The second highest bidder was only off by $1, so I am sure they would like to get the item at what they bid for. I have checked and they have no bids on a similiar item (there are no others like it on the auction block). What should I do? When can I send the second chance to the other bidder? I know things come up, but I haven't heard a peep from the winner. Thanks for your advice on this and have a great day!

Although I normally give people lots of time to pay, I too would be suspicious of a zero-feedback bidder who hasn't responded to your emails. I would go ahead and file the Non-Paying Bidder Alert and make the 2nd Chance offer.

I had something similar happen once and my non-paying bidder ended up paying--I just refunded the money and told them since they hadn't met my terms of payment, I had already sold the item to the 2nd highest bidder.

Thanks for the advice. I don't want to give a huge amount of time, because things come up, but with zero feedback, I am leary. I am going to give it until Friday, then proceed with the filing and second chance. Just hope the 2nd buyer still wants it.
