Question re booking Alamo thru Costco

I swear I have tried to find answers but have only succeeded in confusing myself: If I am an Alamo insider booking thru Costco, will I be able to go directly to vehicles and pick mine? If yes, do I pay at exit booth? Can I use a debit card? When I booked thru Costco, I didn't see anywhere to input Insider info. Did I miss it? Right now, it is the same price Alamo direct and Costco but it looked to me that I am able to cancel Costco if I see a better price but not if I book Alamo direct. Correct??? HELP!!

If the price you see is the same at both Costco and Alamo, then there is no reason not to book through Alamo directly (assuming you can get the balky web site to work!) You don't need to pay for the reservation in advance, so there is no penalty to cancel.

I have booked through Costco Travel once--Avis-- and I received both a Costco and and Avis reservation number. I don't remember if I was able to modify the reservation or add my Wizard number directly at Avis.

If you have a good TA, they can book Alamo for the Costco price as well. It's done directly through Alamo and follows the standard procedures and policies. If you have an issue, you have somebody in your corner to help. Plus it doesn't cost you extra. Just make sure you bring your Costco card when you pick up your car!

No, you cannot pay at the exit booth. You can use the kiosk by the rental counter and then go select your vehicle. You can use your debit card IF you have proof of round trip travel. There is no place other than Alamo to really put your Insider's ID. You can call and perhaps have it added to your reservation. You can cancel with Alamo direct, you may have to call and cancel the reservation.
