Question re airport shuttle efficiency

I am trying to decide how I'm going to get from RPR to the airport. I called the RPR concierge desk and they said they use Mears' airport shuttle service, $17 per person. However, it's a shared shuttle and your pickup time can be up to 3 hours before your flight time.

I've priced a town car service at $60 plus tip. I'm not crazy about taking a taxi because I don't like the fare being subject to possible traffic.

Since there's only 2 of us, it's much more economical to take the shuttle. I don't mind getting picked up at 5:30 a.m., but what makes me hesitant is the possible number of other pickups we may have to make before heading to the airport. I just worry that other people may not be on time to get picked up and we'll have to rush at the airport.

Has anyone had a "bad" experience where they felt like they may not make it to the airport on time for their flight using a shared shuttle? I don't want to be a worry wart, but I'd rather not end my vacation stressing that I'm not going to make my flight home.

You will have plenty of time being picked up 3 hours before your flight.

Has anyone ever used CBC transportation? I found them through google and they are $45 one way for a town car. This would be for all four of us.

I was wondering if anyone had a good or bad experience with them.
