We are currently waitlisted for a 2BD at BCV for the end of August. I'm just curious about how productive the waitlist is as you get closer to the dates requested. Is there normally more (or less) movement on the waitlist as the 31 day cancellation approaches and people finalize (or cancel) their plans? Just trying to determine what our chances are....

This past January we were waitlisted for a 2 Bedroom at BWV for New Year's Day and beyond. We got a few nights here and there and took them. We got most of them about 35 days prior and the last night we were waiting for at about 20 days prior. The last night we were watiting for was New Year's Day so it was pretty busy. I have to say we did have OKW booked in case it didn't come through. We are headed back this December and it looks good for 6 of 7 nights, we waitlisted for a couple of nights there, we are now just waiting for the first night, Dec.10.

I say you might be ok. Just make sure you have something booked just in case. Don't forget, how bad can it be if you are at WDW, no matter where you stay!

Tough to say anything is "normal" when talking about the waitlist. :)

I am one who believes that the best chance of people cancelling (once you get within 4 or 5 months of arrival) comes at the 31 day mark. The Holding Account can be a real pain so experienced members tend to cancel at that time if their plans aren't firm.

Good luck with that waitlist -
