My apologies... We're hopefully new DVC members soon,
If MS only does trash and towels on the 4th day, what do we do with our trash? Do we set it outside our door and do we need to take it to a trash can? If we need towels and we call housekeeping, do we get charged?

You take the trash bags down to the trash can/chute yourself.
If you want a towel pack of extra towels, its $6 per set, then you can keep and wash those for your whole stay. We've gotten those before which is nice because then you can have clean ones while the other is sitting in the washer and don't have to run the washer/dryer everyday. Or you can wash what they give you initially as often as you like and not pay the $6.

There is a trash room where you take your own trash. Just ask at the resort and they can tell you where it is.

For additional towels, the charge is $6.00 I believe.

We have stayed at DVC now for 4 trips in a 2 bedroom and never had to take trash out before towel & trash day. We usually wash towels once or twice a 7 night trip.

Just hang up your towels to dry after you use them and then reuse them.

Anything you request from housekeeping that is extra, you should be charged for. No extra towels, no extra housekeeping, no extra toiletries, without an extra charge.

The trash cans will have extra bags in the bottom of the can. So you pull out the full one, take it to the trash room and then use one of the spare bags in the trash can.

For the hotel style villas, there should be a trash room on each floor. For the community style (OKW, SSR), there should be a trash room in each building.

For towels for the pools, do they usually keep them fairly well stocked at the pools including the quiet ones?

Before DVC, we usually stayed at the values and moderates and usually we brought our towels from our room and called MS to replace them.

Thanks for the great replies.. good information!

Pool towels have always been in good supply when we have stayed in the summer.

How many towels do they provide, is it just one per person? We would have two adults in a 1BR. Thanks!

it's usually by occupancy limit. so most 1BRs would have 4 towels (5 in a BLT/AKV 1BR, i suppose).

We were just totally confused on our trip. We were there for 4 nights/5 days. I wasn't sure if we'd get T&T service on the day before we checked out, but since the signs said day 4 we thought yayy clean towels. We took the dirty towels and piled them up on the floor and our trash was overflowing. I was happy about getting clean towels for that evening and the morning of check out. Well...we didn't get T&T service. I stopped at the front desk and the CM said it's actually on day 5 or something. I explained how I had piled up my towels and they were very nice and brought us some clean ones for free.:goodvibes I guess from now on if we are only there 4 nights I won't expect T&T service.

The front desk was wrong. T&T is on day four with day one being check in day. So you should have gotten in on your last full day. They usually have little signs in the villas telling the guests when they get their services.

Except for VB and HHI, the pools have towels at them in big bins to be used at the pool. I think both VB and HHI issue each villa pool towels to be turned in when you leave, like most timeshares do.

Guests are not supposed to supplement their towels in the rooms with towels from the pool.

Yes you can leave your trash outside your door and no they wont charge you for towels.

No, this is not correct. You should place your trash in the trash room, not in the corridor. And we all will be charged for those towels because anything that isn't in line with the housekeeping schedule will come out of member dues.

Seriously - DON'T leave your trash in the hall! If you can't walk it to the trash room, it should stay in your room until your housekeeping day. Have some respect for your fellow guests.

We were at Saratoga this fall, for our first DVC stay.

When I ask housekeeping what to do with my trash when the bag was full, THEY told me to leave my trash in the hall! They did not even mention to me that there was a trash room.

After I found out, I stopped leaving them in the hall, but don't be surprised to see trash in the hall if housekeeping tell that to people !

Sometimes the trash bags are left there by housekeeping. I know I've seen it at BWV, the housekeepers put the bags in the hall as they are cleaning the rooms and another person comes along and picks them up later.
