We just got back yesterday and are thinking our next trip MAY be with a baby...we are thinking about starting a family soon. My mom and aunt would be joining us too. I've heard things about the Villas at WL and Beach Club villas, but I'm a little confused. Can these be reserved without belonging to the DVC? Do you have to rent someone's points or is there a room rate per night like for the hotels? How do you all feel about them as compared to the regular resorts? I've never even seen pictures but I'm thinking the 2 bedroom one might work. Help!

Check out the DVC boards here on the DIS - they will give you more info than you could ever want. Yes, you can rent points from a DVC member or you can book right through Disney.

We are VERY happy DVC members and I can tell you that the rooms are wonderful and roomy.

Good luck!!

Renting points from a DVC member is the way to go so be sure to check out the DVC boards. It definitely saves you money to rent from DVC owners as opposed to booking through Disney. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and make traveling with a baby so much easier! You can view pictures on the allears.net site.

We have stayed at the Beach Club, Boardwalk and Old Key West villas. I like BWV best but my DH probably would say that BCV is his favorite. I am sure you will love whatever you choose! Enjoy! :teeth:

You'll love the 2 bedroom. Plenty of room. I've stayed at OKW twice. I have two sister's that are DVC members so I usually buy points from them. I do know that you can book these through Disney also but you'll find people on the DVC boards that will sell points. You can take advantage of this and save some money.

You can rent points or reserve them thru Disney just like any room. Renting points will save you money.

You can find pictures on allearsnet.com. There are also some on the resort room pic thread going right now.

You can make a reservation at a DVC resort through CRO and get full cleaning every day. There are some limitations to what villas are available to book, though. No standard view at BWV, no Boardwalk view at BWV, no dedicated two bedroom with two queen sized beds in the second bedroom (except for OKW-all second bedrooms have two queen sized beds).

If you get a reservation directly from CRO, you will maintain cancellation rights like any Disney resort that you book through CRO. You may or may not be able to cancel a reservation you make through a member. It's up to the member. Disney will not intervene in any negotiation between a member and non-member.

Watch out renting points, you can get hooked. I did and now own.
