Have a two family group going to Disney in a week and have a couple of questions about one of the families has a infant that is not quite 2 years old yet. can the infant eat off the the parents ddp on the buffets? and the second on the quick services they would have to buy food or share what they have with the infant?

Children under 3 are free at the buffets, and they don't have to literally eat off their parent's plate (in other words, they can have their own plate.) At QS places they can either share their parent's meal or they have their own, although since they wouldn't be on the DDP, it would have to be paid for OOP.

You may want to check with the buffet because I have read one specific post that said the person with the infant was told at one restaurant they would be charged if they got a separate plate for the infant; the infant was required to eat off the parents' plate. I don't know which restaurant it was.

At quick services and a la carte restaurants the party can either share with the infant or buy a separate meal for the infant, which would not be covered by DDP.

Yes, we took our son at both age 1 and age 2 and both times got him his own plate at all the buffets. Even at Ohana when he was only 1 the waiter asked if we wanted some mac and cheese for him and we said yes and he didnt even charge us for it, though we would have paid for it!
