I know it use to be offered as stateroom gift when looking online and I was wondering if they still sold them in the shops onboard. They where models of the cruise ship. I think it would be neat to heave a model of the ship we are on. And if so does anyone know how much they are?

Thanks for posting this and the responses! I've been meaning to ask this for my DS so he'll be thrilled! :cool1:

Thanks again,
Heather

I know you mentioned on another post about large models that are very detailed. Do they have something in between these and the 40" model? Do you have photos?

I've read reports that inventory dissipates quickly. I suggest purchasing early in your voyage.

And aren't these available online thru DCL merchandise outlet?

Wow...that model looks so large....I don't remember them being so large....

The one of I got on the Magic/Wonder are smaller and cost about $25 or so.

The photo albums behind the ship in the pic are normal size photo albums.

Just wondering how one could ascertain size from a photo?
I was going to ask how large are the ship models. So I will now?

The Dream/Fantasy models are 12" long, not quite 2" wide and just under 3" tall. They are 32.95 USD

The Magic/Wonder are 10" long, 1" wide and just about 2" tall. Neither including there bases. As of 2010, they were $28.00 USD.

Someone mentioned this as a gift fo DS. If you take them to the Capt meet and greet, hell sign them for you.

Word of warning though. They will go fast.(happened to us 1 year. There were 3 the first night we looked and the next night they were all gone) Im pretty sure that if you call the DCL merchandise line, on the DCL gifts amenities page, I think they are still able to be pre ordered. Theyll send a Gift card to your cabin first day, and you go to a gift shop to pick it up. Itll be new in the box.

The Dream/Fantasy models are a little bit bigger,vs the Magic/Wonder models. I guess to stay with the relative scale of the ships.

That makes sense....the Dream model in the pic looks huge...I guess it is just the perspective.

It does. I had to look twice. I know Reto has a larger scale model of the Magic, that he got on Ebay. For a second I thought that was the one he posted the pic of.

My son has 2 Wonders (1 he got from my grandmother when my grandfather died. It was a gift from my ex and I at the time from '99 to them. The other we bought him in 2010) a Magic, and thanks to a Diser, a Dream. The Dream he has just behind the Magic, and the Magic blocks out most of the Dream on the top shelf of his desk. Theres just enough showing that you can recognize its another DCL ship.

They used to sell VERY detailed models of the ships that came with a wood base and had a plastic cover over them. They were north of $300 if I remember right. I have one of the Wonder and when I get back home next week, I'll take a pic and post. I haven't seen those in awhile on board though I ask every single time I sail if they will be getting them back. I can hope!

Sorry. I got close with the camera - that's why it looks huge. As truck1 said, it is in fact just slightly larger than the Magic/Wonder.

Mine still has the price tag on it and when I got it last November, it was $32.95.

Never heard about that $300 Wonder model, so I can't wait to see a photo of it. Would be great if DCL would bring back some larger models of the ships. I'd definitely buy one. And if not, I guess I have to contact my Ebay seller who built my 40" Magic model to see, if he could do one of the new ships.

I have a secret hope that some of the Magic models they have on display at the WDW resorts will eventually be replaced with the new ships and become available on the aftermarket. A guy can dream, right?:)
