I have current reservations for this august. im just wondering how disney goes about there pins.. on there website does it generate per household name or by email address? what i mean is, i registered my name and my wifes name on disneys site.. i still have saved reservations under both names... i also registered each of us twice under two seperate email addresses, so we have a total of 4 registered accounts on disneys site with 4 saved offers but these are for two of us.. will disney only look at names and only see two registered or is the more times i register myself w/different email addresses the better? i also put in for a dvd mailer under each email so a total of 4..im losing out hope that we get a pin so close to august now.. i check in on 8.10-8/19 so i miss free dining and the summer promo... i get 5% off right now for the first 4 nights...thanks

Many people guess where these PINS come from, what to sign up for, and the best way to get them, but in all honesty there is no exact answer. It's a Disney marketing thing. I personally have gotten a few PINS, although never all that great, and mostly after I was playing around on the sight a bit and saving some reservations, but once again, I'm not sure if that's the reason. Most recently, my boyfriend, who I live with, got a card thanking him for visiting with a PIN. We visited last year and I can honestly say I don't recall his address being on anything (other than the reservation - which was under my name and my credit card) Hes not registered on the site, has nothing mailed to him under his name (other than that), and has been once.
Many families register multiple people in their household, so I assume the more the merrier! Its my personal belief that the more you do under a single registration, the better luck you have getting a PIN - but thats ONLY because I've had luck with them. For some people, they register a family member, spend alot of time under their own registration, but the family member still gets the PIN!
Good luck!! :goodvibes

I think they just flip a coin to see who gets a pin! I have tried all of the above and go every year. The only pin's I have gotten this year are for this summer during the time when FD is already offered. I have been hoping for a pin for this November in case FD is not offered but have not gotten anything. Others have gotten a 30% off pin during November.

You just never know. FIL forwarded a WDW PIN offer to my DH. It was sent to FIL's email (he has never signed up for anything, been to WDW 1x several yrs ago, but it was bil's treat, so fil did not pay for or reserve anything), but had my DH's name on it!!?? My name was used for our reservation. When I tried to check out the pin, it would not take our zip code or fil's zip code, so I am now wondering if I should have tried bil's zip code. Basically, it sounds like disney jumbled several family members together into one pin offer. I never really looked into it more, b/c the dates wouldn't have worked for us (and now it's expired anyway). Someone here on dis said that their dog got a PIN before, lol.

I have learned that the best way to get a pin is to stop looking for one. Probably just my luck, but whenever I need them and wait for one to come, they never do. If I don't have a trip planned or don't need one, they are plentiful.

You can do all that and there's still no guarantee you will get a pin. Last year I ordered the DVD, played around on the sight, saved offers, etc and didn't get a pin. This year I saved a couple of offers (planning purposes only) and received a pin! I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to the pins, but you can still hope:goodvibes

I have recently ordered the custom maps, free DVD, and saved vacation quotes in my name and in my daughters name. I have always had my name on the reservation and have went to Disney several times. My duaghter who has only been to Disney one time in the past 15 years got a pin in the email and regular mail. It was only for 10% off but it may depend on if your a regular visitor or not :confused3
