How many of you OKW owners book at 11 months and then switch to another DVC resort at 7 months out. I know some owners have more then 1 home resort but some of us can't afford that.

Richyams poll was only about OKW I believe.:wave2: :wave2:
Hi all

We don't and probably won't.

Never have - don't plan on it.

We did it on this upcoming trip. We had four nights booked at VWL on our VWL points and seven nights at OKW on OKW points. At seven months, we changed to VWL. We got the Jan 1-4 days at 11 months with VWL points. This is our first trip to VWL and we just needed more points to book it. If we were unable to change the entire reservation to VWL, we would have just stayed at OKW, but we hate to move when we go. We'd rather stay put.

Our October trip is already booked at OKW with OKW points. We won't change that one.

Just had to reply with a minority vote. We're not OKW members, so we do just the opposite. Book at VWL at 11 months, then switch to OKW at 7 months. DH much prefers OKW, and fortunately we've always been able to get it at 7 months, hope that will always be true since he said once (hope he was kidding), "I'm not sure I want to go unless we can get OKW."

Your husband is obviously a very inteligent man with very good taste.

I only change reservations if something has changed in our travel plans.

I do book outside of OKW with OKW points, but I only book once at 7 months.

I have done this several times. It can be inconvenient on one hand but sometimes it is kind of nice to switch midstream. The one advantage is you get a new freshly cleaned room with new supplies. That is not enough to make one do this though.

I think the main reason I chose to do this was because I was traveling with family and they wanted to see a couple of different resorts. We started out at BWV and then moved to OKW. They really liked the extra space at OKW but prefer to stay at BWV because of location and amenities that OKW does not have.

We booked OKW at the 11 month mark for our first seven stays and stayed at OKW as planned.

This year, for our 8th visit, we went in the summer for the first time and booked OKW at 11 months and then changed at 7 months to BWV as we wanted to try a new DVC resort as well as the new time of year.

We won't have to switch at 7 months anymore for BWV as we bought points for there from DVC because we liked it so much and because we also liked OKW and wanted to be able to stay there on trips. So now it's 11 months for each. We may try BCV or VWL in the future, but for our trip next summer we booked at the 11 month window for both resort stays.
