Hey. Me and my mom were just talking about Disney, and then she came in and said 'Ask someone about resorts that Dad would like'. Of course, I am spazzing because we may be going again!!!

Anyways, my Dad isn't really a Disney guy. He went with us in April 2006 and said it was the last time- but me and my mom really want to take one last family trip (btw, I am almost 14 and I would be 14 on the trip) before I go to High School (I'm graduating this year)

So, what resorts would you suggest (In a reasonable price range) that might convince my dad to go on one last family WDW trip? He likes playing golf and he's a beach guy for sure. My mom is thinking Coronado Springs or Carribean Beach. We stayed at WL last time.

Thanks!!!

He would probably really enjoy one of the Epcot resorts or the Polynesian. I'm not sure if they are in your price range, but there are discounts out there.

It depends on the budget. But without suggesting a deluxe, I would also suggest CBR, since he likes the beach.
Or really knock his socks off and do a split stay, with at least a few nights at Vero Beach!
If he is into fishing, there are resorts that offer fishing. And he can go Bass fishing in Bay Lake.
Is he into sports? Go during ESPN weekend! :wizard:

CSR is a great resort. I like to relax by the pool, in the hot tub and at pool bar. Check out my CS website below for pics and info.

ps - you'll love the main pool and slide!! My DD is 14 and has been going to CSR since she was 5. She loves it!!

Well, I am a Dad and I had no problem relaxing by the pool at CBR, but when I really want to go all out for what I consider total relaxation, I choose the Poly!

My DH comes along for our Disney trip every year (it's not he's favorite thing)
but he knows how much we love it so I always book a MOD Resort because
it's in our price range and the MODs are very relaxing when coming back
from the parks.

MODs have Hot Tubs and there are nice Bars for Adults by the
Main Pools (where he could get a drink and chill).

There are also TS Restaurant at most MODs, which is nice to have a sit down meal without having to leave the Resort.

If you guys use the Free Bus Transportation that Disney provides, your Dad wouldn't have to drive the whole trip (my DH loves the thought of not having to drive for a week).

We will be going again this year (staying at another MOD) and he is starting to look forward to our Disney Trips. I did something right.:yay:

Saratoga Springs might be another choice. It's also a DVC resort on a golf course. Right next to DTD (just a short walk). It has a very nice spa and health club.

I agree with Deb, either OKW or SSR. Both resorts make you feel like you have left the Disney life behind and especially at OKW, the views you can get from the balcony to the golf course are very relaxing. These are my favorite 2 places to stay if I'm going on vacation to WDW but pretending that I'm not going to WDW!!!!!

CSR is a great resort for relaxing. It's very quiet, tropical and perfect for the dad wanting to escape reality.

My dad is the same way, we picked the Boardwalk for him and he loved it! We rented points and stayed in a 2 bedroom villa

POFQ has great views and is also on a golf course, across the river. Scat Cats has a great Jazz musician Wed - Sun. The boat to DTD is great. The hot tub is very secluded, it sits behind the pool bar. You and your Mom will love the transportation to the parks. You are first on and off coming and going to the parks. There isn't a beach, but how about a day at TL or BB for dear old Dad?

Even POR is a good bet, with it being on the "river" he can go fishing and it has several quiet pools that maybe right up his alley, also the landscaping is very relaxing........although I love the WL too. I think the important thing is you and your mom need to make it clear that he does not have to do the parks everyday that you and her are willing to do them together and he can have several days to do as he pleases.......golf, relax, enjoy. Just plan your days around you and your mom and a couple of meals out with your dad.

My husband (not a big fan of all things Disney) loves Fort Wilderness cabins. There is a deck to sit on, you can take your golf cart to the beach, Crockett's Tavern and the pool. It is very peaceful & relaxing. He won't stay anywhere else.

As a dad who enjoys all the things your dad enjoys I'd choose CSR!

Love relaxing by the pool with a cool beverage, read a book, sun myself, another cool beverage, a little lunch, another cool beverage.... Sorry I got carried away:rotfl2: !

CSR is a great spot given it's central location. A trip to one of the Disney golf courses is a snap. The resort will arrange transportation to and from the course.:thumbsup2

Also there are great rope hammocks to lounge by the lake, just like being at the beach!:woohoo:

Enjoy the trip!!!
