I tried PMing a moderator, but no PMs are being accepted by the moderator.

I have a question about renting existing reservations. I realize you can't post anything until you're within the 30 day mark. Can someone tell me if there is a rule regarding offering an existing reservation to someone who has specifically asked for that time/resort that is more than 30 days out?

You can definitely PM any of the 'live' moderators. They are listed at the bottom of the R/T board and are WebmasterDoc, Caskbill, and LisaS.

You cannot PM the moderator named "The DVC-R/T board" as that is a computer and not a real person.

To answer your question, No, you may not post an existing reservation if it is more than 30 days away, even if it would be a reply to someone seeking a reservation for that time period. This is explained in the posting rules:
  • You may make a "Reply Post" in someone else's "Reservation Wanted" thread and list your confirmed reservation there, under the following conditions:
    • You already have your own "Reservation for Rent" thread posted to the board, for the exact SAME reservation.
    • The reservation you are offering essentially meets the other poster's requirements as stated by their "Reservation Wanted" criteria.
    • Penalties for non-compliance:
      1. If you've already had two postings of existing reservations for the year, and the reply post lists a 3rd reservation, the post will be deleted and you will receive infraction points and possibly loss of posting privileges on the Rent/Trade board.
      2. If you do not have your own active thread already on the board, for the exact same reservation, your reply post will be deleted and you will receive infraction points.
      3. If the reservation you post is more than 30 days away, (which also means you don't have your own active "Reservation for Rent" thread already posted), the reply post will be deleted and you will receive infraction points and possible loss of posting privileges on the board for not adhering to the 30-day rule.
      4. If your listed reservation does not essentially match the other poster's "Reservation Wanted" conditions, your reply post will be deleted and you will receive infraction points. (Determining if your Reservation meets this condition is at the sole discretion of the board moderators.)

Thanks for pulling that info. out for me. I had read through the rules when I was interested in posting, but couldn't find this when I went back to search for my new answer. I appreciate the need for the strict rules, I'm just bumming that I won't be able to use the rent/trade board as I had originally thought.

Bill,

What about PMing? Would it be a violation if she PM'd the "Reservation Wanted" poster, rather than posting her availability publicly?
