Question on refillable mugs

You can buy cases of soda for what a mug costs. Even the Hess mini-mart on site has good prices. Deluxe and moderate resorts have a coffe maker that makes coffee that's much better than the coffee you get in the food court. I actually used my mug to bring coffee to The Mara when I had breakfast.

The mugs really only make sense if you put some souvenir value in the mug or eat alot of meals in the food court.

I didn't mean to offend you. The "mug police" was a joke, really sorry if that was taken wrong.

And the more I think about it, why should I care who fills mugs where? I'll let it go from now on while on vacation.

They are great mugs for gifts or home use.

No offense taken, lets all have a Disney Day!

If I buy this mug, can I have coffee in the morning and soda in the afternoon? (yes, I promise to wash it in between)

I actually prefer Coke in the morning AND afternoon but DH has to have his coffee. We are staying at POFQ in December.

TIA !!

The mugs are $11.99 before tax. The current policy is that mugs are only good for the length of stay in which you purchased the mug.

Does the current policy apply to those people who bought them with the promise of refills for life? I can't see them selling as free refills for life and then changing the policy after you bought them.

Hi everyone,

First, thanks for all of the great help and advice. We leave tomorrow morning. This should be my last question....I am trying to decide if the refillable mug is a good investment or not for $13 a piece.

I think they're a great investment at $13 a piece. That's a pretty cheap souvenenir, one that your family members will be able to use over and over for years to come and each time they do they'll remember this trip. Look at what you can put into the mugs while you're at Pop as a nice added bonus.

With all of your Pics of Caribbean Beach do you happen to have a pic of the MUG available for everyone to see??????? :rotfl:

I love my mug!!! We were there in 2000 and we each bought one. (4 adults) Every time I drink from it I think what a great time we had there. We were with my mother and step father. He passed away in July, so every time I drink from that I think of the great time we had together!!!!

I still reuse the mugs I bought years ago where I was told good for life. The newer mugs now have the "disclaimer" on them, but in all honesty, how is anyone gonna know whether you bought the mug yesterday or 2 years ago. They look the same. I say go and do whatever you feel is right for you. Disney is not about to start a discussion with a guest in the food court about using their old mug that doesn't have the disclaimer ... they know that CM's were selling them to guests under that "good for life" policy so they're not about to ruin someone's magic over something they obviously don't consider a bank-breaker.

At POP in Aug, my DSis and I noticed many people filling a lot of different mugs there ... I laughed and thought "wouldn't the mug police have a field day in here today" !

We never found them useful until our kids were about 5 years old, where they started to drink the lemonade and hot chocolate. Up until then, we bought only for the adults, and shared if one of them wanted something.

And that is truly priceless magic ! A tangent reminder of some great memories.

So sorry for your loss.

There is a Hess station at DTD and one by the Car Care Center at MK, also one near Boardwalk and the fire station.

Are any of these assesible if you are using Disney transportation? We are not going to have a car.

No, but if you take a cab back to your resort from one of the parks or PI, the cab driver will be happy to make a stop for you. There's one pretty close to Downtown Disney/PI that we'd stop by on the way home to get cigarettes- it's the cheapest place on property to get them. We had to take a cab anyway since we stayed until closing. It cost us I think $11 plus a tip to get from Downtown to POP.

We have a couple different mugs that were collected over the years. And no you are not supposed to reuse them on another trip but from my experience noone ever said anything. If they would I would completely understand and not argue but until someone says something I won't worry about it. God knows I spend enough money on the trip!

The girls love picking out which one to take on the trip. Not to mention they are so durable and they get used so hard at home. The girls can pick one up to use look at it and say "Mommy remember when we...." because it reminded them of a magic moment.

Unfortunately none can say a whole lot about it until Disney enforces the rule.
