I know that points may be re-allocated from seasons (Adverture to Magic ect...), but can they be re-allocated by reducing 2 BR and increasing 1 BR? Or how about reducing weekend and increasing weekdays? (all in the same season). If I don't have anything correct, feel free to straighten me out on that too!
Almost forgot. When there is a re-allocation, about how many points get displaced?

Thanx in advance.

They can be reconfigured any way that Disney sees fit, but the total amount of points remains fixed.

If they lower one season/room type/day, they have to raise it by the same amount somewhere else.

I'd have to drag out the old info to see exactly what the shift was when we had the reallocation. It wasn't a huge difference if that's your concern.

Actually, I believe that is wrong.

They say that a "unit" must remain the same at OKW, I am not sure if it is the same at all the resorts, I believe there is a similar thing at other resorts.

Since a "unit" contains a mixture of one, two, and three bedroom units, AND that mixture is not constant, I don't believe it is possible for them to adjust between unit sizes.

Total points applicable to each "unit" for the entire year must remain the same. As used in the official documents, a resort has "units" and "vacation homes." A "unit" (which is what you actually buy a percentage interest in) is a combination of a certain number of vacation homes. For example, BWV has 125 units but 383 vacation homes (the room total). Also, at BWV you have some units that consist of only studios, of only 2BR's, of only GV's etc., besides some that have a combination of room sizes. Thus, as practicable matter it is impossible to lower points applicable to a GV and raise them as to a 2BR--since some units have only GV's there is no way that unit's annual total could be lowered for a GV because there is no 2BR in the unit to shift points to; likewise since some units have only 2BR's it is impossible to raise the total points applicable to those 2BR's in the those units and give them to some other size room within the unit. In other words, you cannot get shifts of points from one size room to another. What DVD can do is lower points for one season for all units (and effectively all vacation homes) and make an equal increase during another season; it could also raise weekday totals while having an equal decrease on weekends. In the history of DVC, there has been only one point shift--at OKW several years ago to raise points a little in off-seasons and lower them a little in others. That was done because off-season demand was significantly outstripping supply. Note, you can assume DVD is not going to make point shifts except in situations where it has an obvious and repeated problem like that.
