Is better to buy points in different locations, (say SSR and OKW) or buy all in one location?

:) :) :) :)

Thanks

:o Your going to get several opinions on this one....

Initially, I think you are better getting points at just one location. This will allow you to take advantage of the 11-month booking window at a particular resort.

Later, add points at other resorts.

It totally depends on your situation and how you will use them. If you will consistently book at 7 months or less, buy OKW. If you have a preferred resort, buy there. If you need financing consider buying from DVC (SSR). Of course you could buy more than one resort if you chose.

I agree, get your points all at one resort to begin with, so that you can afford whatever length vacation you normally take. It's simpler to figure out points if you are booking 11 months in advance. After you have that, then begin looking to add on at other resorts. If you never travel at peak periods for any of the resorts, then just add on at your home resort, which simplifies matters when you make ressies.

Thanks, I guess that answers my question. I want to use SSR for large family stays and OKW for when its just me and DW, she also wants to use pts at OKW for VL since overall is cheapher.

For bigger groups, OKW can't be beat. The GV is much larger and is less points by far. Same could be said for multiple rooms.
