Sorry to hijack here, but do DVC members receive discount on tickets? I know there are DVC discounts on APs but if we only plan to go for a week every 1-2 years, we'd likely only want to buy 7 day park hoppers.

No ticket discounts currently but you can buy 10 day non-expiration tickets at a discount from Underground Tourist using the Mousesavers discount.

Since there is discussion of "everything else" you do want to consider that if you go with a 1 or 2br eventually, you can save a small fortune by preparing meals in the villa, since you have a full kitchen. Yes it does take 2x+ the points but a full villa is hard to beat.
