Question on Point Transfers

I know this has probably been discussed before but here goes again.

If we have points transferred to our account, are we able to use these points with our use year or do we need to use the use year of the account the points were transferred from?

i had points transferred to me for our christmas trip and one of the renters use year was april 2004, so when i aske ms if i needed to bank any of the rented points for christmas they said no, that the points were good until march 2005 and my use year is sept.

so i would say the points that are transferred to you retain its home resort ( except for a glinch in the computer that ms is working on, the computer deposits them as your home resort, but dont count on the computer glinch, just in case they fixed it.)

and the points retain there use year, so make sure if you recieve the points and your not going to use them right away, ask if they have to be banked and you will recieve them back when you recieve your regular deposit of points.


banked and borrow points cannot be transferred

you can only transfer out OR in per use year

In theory and in terms of policy that is the way it is supposed to work. In actuality, it does not (but this works in the transferee's favor). I transferred expiring points to a member and later found out that due to a glitch in the system (that as far as I know has not been fixed), such a transfer can take on the member's designated use year meaning that the points for the transferee did not necessarily expire but if I held them myself they would have expired!!!!
