Question on payments?

Hello,

We are planning to go to WDW next year for the first time. My question is can you pay for the vacation in payments? I guess it would be monthly payments? It would be alot easier for us this way instead of putting all on a credit card. If so who would you go through in planning it. I looked on Disney world website and it just seems more expensive that way. Maybe it's just me. I would like to do everything seperate then getting the magic plan. If anybody has any info. Please let me know.

Sure, you can budget it as you need to. When you send in your deposit, there will be a payment address and you can send payments there when you want to (monthly if you choose). Usually when you set it up you pay a deposit and the balance is due at a date they give you--interim payments may be made. Be sure to write your reservation number on your check so it gets credited to the appropriate account.

Hi, Chrissy and welcome to the DIS boards.

I think that you'll find that you'll save money by booking all parts of your trip separately as opposed to purchasing a package.

Park Hopper passes can be purchased in advance at The Disney Store, thru the Disney website or thru a number of ticket brokers like TicketMania , MapleLeaf Travel , and Paramount International Travel . I have been purchasing passes when I can afford to so that I can spread out the cost over time and hopefully avoid any ticket price increases.

You'll find a lot of codes for room-only reservations and discounts on car rentals atMouseSavers .

If you're flying, purchase your flight as soon as you see a good rate. I booked my airfare for this summer's cruise back in September of 2002! I paid $135 RTHL to MCO and by today's rates for those same flight's, I saved a bundle! And the great thing about it is that it's already paid for!

You can offset the costs of what you'll be buying in the parks by purchasing Disney Dollars routinely. Just $20 per week will result in $1040 in Disney money in a year! And you can also use those Disney Dollars to payoff the balance on your room (if there is any) when you arrive.

You might want to try booking through Dreams Unlimited here on the DIS. We used them last time we went and were very happy with the service provided (looked out for discount rates, booked PS's for us).

I've also used Dreams Unlimited & they are very helpful! They go way beyond what a regular travel agency does for you. It's also great to have a DU agent to answer your questions. They don't mind getting emails about silly things, because they understand how complicated it can be to plan a Disney vacation.

I also wouldn't book a package. It seems simple, but you will spend a lot upfront on things you may not get a chance to use, especially your first visit.

We usually put down a deposit and make regular credit card payments to Disney (via the Dreams website), but you can also mail checks.

Prior to purchasing DVC I always had our trip paid before we left home. I would make reservations 10 - 12 months in advance and make monthly payments. I never wanted to come home to a bill. Annmarie
