We will be arriving at 12:30 a.m. prior to our staying at poly on 8/15-22 We were originally going to stay at an airport hotel with shuttle to get a few hours of sleep but then it may be a hassle next day to go back to airport to take ME. I'm waiting on a price for poly formthe extra night on 8/14-8/15 but in the meantime saw port Orleans had a somewhat reasonable price for the night. Now question is would it be an advantage to stay at this other Disney hotel, for, the one night. What is involved the next day as far as us transporting our luggage and getting to the poly. Being so late I not sure what the answer is for us. The ideal would be getting to stay at poly but not sure if this is possible money wise

You can....

Check out of PO and take a taxi or uber with all your luggage to the Poly. Check in, leave bags with Bell Services, go on about your day.

Call Bell Services and have them take the bags (make sure you have what you need for the day with you...medications, sunscreen, swimsuits, clothing...whatever you need that day) to the Poly. Do NOT expect to have access to those bags until AFTER 4pm because they will be in transit during that time. Go about your day. Show up at Poly when you feel like it.

One thing people like to do on days like that is spend the day at pools. When changing resorts you actually have access to the checking-out resort as well as the checkin-in resort. So you could just make that first day a pool day. When you stay at one of the Port Orleans resorts you get access to the pools at the other PO resort, so that's a lot of pools just at PO! Then when you make your way over to Poly, you'll have access there, too.

But that might not be how you wanted to spend that first day. Just an option. :)

What's a somewhat reasonable price? The Hyatt inside the airport (so getting to DME might require a change of elevator) is under $200 without any type of discount.

Thanks very much for the information! Yes a pool day is probably the easiest option on days that you have to wait.
