My question is there an arrival time that you will not be charged for that day on the DDP. For instance if we arrived at 9 pm will It be necessary for me to pay for that day on the dining plan ??:confused3

Yes, you will be charged for that night.

The dining plan is based on the number of nights you book the package. It doesn't matter what time your arrive.

But you can use that first day's credits on any day you choose by having a 2TS meal or doing 2CS meals-- breakfast and lunch (of course depending on the type of DP you choose). Also, the credits are good on the day you check out- up until midnight. So if you aren't leaving early on check-out day, you can use the credits that day.

and it worked out great! We arrived at like 10pm so we had our whole day's credits left. So one day we did a TS breakfast and a TS dinner. We also had some credits left for the day we left. It really worked out well that way. Plus we shared credits many times so we might use 2 CS credits for breakfast and 3 for lunch to share among the 5 of us. We had plenty of food and had trouble using all of our credits. But it was "free" so it was ok.

You're alloted credits per night you stay, not per day. If you spend the night in the resort, you will receive credits for that night. You receive all the credits for your entire stay at check-in, and it's up to you to use them all before midnight of your check-out date, when they expire. You are not required to use a certain number of credits on any certain day.

Sorry...still confused and trying to figure this out! We definitely won't arrive until at least 9:00 at resort. BUT we'll have food credits for that day?

Ex. Resort booked for 18-25th. Do we get FULL dining plan credits for every day INCLUDING the 18th and the 25th?

If you are booked for 7 nights/8 days...on the basic DDP you will get 7 TS credits and 7 CS credits and 7 snack credits for each person in your party. I hope that clears it up. You can use the credits at any time during the vacation and they will expire at midnight on the last day of your trip.

Have a great time.

You don't get credits per day at all. You get credits per night.

You are staying 7 nights, so on the basic plan each member of your party (age 3 or over) will recieve 7 TS credits, 7 CS credits, and 7 snack credits. You will receive all the credits at the same time when you check in on the 18th. You then have until midnight on the 25th to use all of them up. It doesn't matter what day you use them and how many of each type of credit you use on any given day.

For this reason it's suggested that if you are on the DDP you should plan your meals - decide ahead of time where you want to eat, on which day, and how many credits it will cost you.

You might want to see the "Everything you wanted to know about the dining plan" sticky thread at the top of this board.

:thumbsup2 Thanks to everyone for your responses. I can see where it would be an advantage if you were on the free dining plan but if you have to pay for that extra night then it could get expensive if you have a large family.
