Question on Keystone Resort-renting this summer.

I spend half my money on WDW, and waste the rest.

Planning to use 37 points per night for a 3BR this August and was wondering if they ask where in the resort area you want to stay? The internet for example showed "River Run" etc. Does the resort stretch out to different areas (and if so any recommendations)? Or is it just all one resort?

River Run is a specific neighborhood area of Keystone. You can use DVC points in River Run, Forest, Ski Tip or the Keystone Lodge. We have stayed in River Run on 2 different occasions. You can choose between 2 different levels of accommodations. The Premium will be in the River Run village area, close to shopping, restaurants, etc. It's a short walk over the creek to the ski area and gondola. The Deluxe area is what they consider ski in/ski out at River Run. It is steps away from the gondola and a short walk to the village area. The Deluxe condos are luxury condos and very, very nice. You can see maps of the resort area at this website: http://keystone.snow.com/

River Run is an excellent place to stay in the winter because it's very close to the slopes, if I were going in the summer I might consider one of the other neighborhoods that were a little more away from the village areas.

Are you sure about that? On the DVC website, the link to the Premium describes the building as "Timbers" and says it is ski in/ski out. The link to Deluxe does not say that.

Are you able to confirm as I am also hoping to go to Keystone and want to be sure I'll be at ski in/ski out lodgings.

Many thanks
Nick

Maybe I have the Premium/Deluxe wording backwards. The Timbers is the ski in/ski out, we stayed there last year. It is the really, really nice place. If you look on the Keystone River Run map, The Timbers is located on the circle drive end of Trailhead Rd, just steps from the gondola. It is beautiful back there and very quiet but I will warn you, the point cost for The Timbers was a chunk!

We had a 2 br at The Timbers for 4 nights, 1/2-1/6, for 312 pts. The year before, we had 2 br in a River Run "Deluxe" in the village area for the same # of night for 164 pts.

Thanks. I guess 37 points in the summer isn't too bad. I think it was 25 for a 2BR but the extra room would be nice.

I booked a 1BR at River Run for my daughter and her husband to go skiing last January. They loved the resort and said they were close to lots of activity. They had absolutely no problems getting around to the different areas of Keystone. :D
