My sister is a DVC member. She has booked 2 rooms in OKW for weekend of Dec 5. We are paying cash and not using her DVC point. A deposit was taken for the 2 rooms on day of booking. Today she tried to pay the rooms off in full and was told by 2 different CMs that payment had to be done when checking in.
Wondering if this could possibly be right. Have done 20+ trips & cruises and there was always a PIF date. We screwed up and purchased everything separately on this trip ( PP & DD paid for already) but would like to get the room paid. Find it had to believe Disney would turn down money 6 months in advance.

It's correct that you will pay at the resort. Member Cash rooms work differently than rooms booked thru DRC. They never even used to require the deposit until recently.

The standard procedure for cash reservations booked through Disney Vacation Club is a one-night deposit in advance with the balance due upon arrival. DVC a completely separate entity from CRO / Walt Disney Travel Company and has different policies.

They're doing you a favor. The rates won't change so there's no urgency to pay off in advance. Keep the money in your savings account and earn interest for another 6 months. :thumbsup2

Thanks for quick replies. Put my mind at ease. My sisters inlaws bought park passes for her family as a gift but there is a total 11 travelling. Not being able to bundle everything had turned this into a huge hassle. All will be good though when we touch down @ MCO on Dec 5th.

If you want, the concierge desk at the resort can put the theme park tickets on to your KTTW cards after check-in. MagicBands may or may not be an option come December, still way to early to tell when those will roll out.
