Doing a Wishes Vow Renewal and I understand the deposit will be $2K. Now we are coming into a bit of money is why we are doing this all out dream come true vow renewal but apparently it will take a bit longer for the courts to release the funds.

My question is does anyone have experience with Disney holding your deposit check for awhile? Im just worried about loosing the date and venues Ive chosen..

Thanks..

I'm not sure I understand the question? Once you hit the 12 month mark and get the LOA, you only have a certain amount if time to sign it and return it with the deposit (usually 2 weeks). They may not charge your card immediately, but I wouldn't plan on them sitting on it for too long. If you fail to return it by the specified date, they will release your locations.

We have our appt in Sept (which will be 12 mo) to view the sites we want: WP, Ariels and Living Seas but other than that we havent actually been able to do any more than that.

I wasnt sure if I needed to put the deposit down right then and there, or how that works..What is the next step after the viewing of the venues?

They will check availability on the venues. Before you can sign the contract you complete the room block info (if you're having one), then they'll draw up the LOA. Since you won't know what your locations/dates are upon arrival, you probably won't receive the contract then and there. Even if you do, they give you two weeks to sign and return with payment. Hope this helps!

if you're going on your site visit at 12 months, i would try to decide and put your deposit in as soon as possible.

here's basically what my dftw email says for a timeline:

24-16 months: begin talks with dftw, narrow down possible sites, site visit

16-12 months: tentatively hold venue space

12 months: loa, deposit, room block

6-4 months: planning session

90 days: minimum expenditure due

30 days: full balance due

4 days: final guest count for rehearsal dinner by noon

3 days: final guest count for wedding day by noon
