I had booked a trip for my parents and I for September back in February and paid $225.50 out of Islip, Long Island. Now the price is $141.50. I just got off the phone with Delta and got the name and city that I was calling (thanks Beverly Lynn for reminding us on another post). I was told that we will each get a "confirmation" in the mail for a saving of $88.00 each (but my calculations come out to $84 each).:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: I had asked her if this was a "voucher". She said it is a "confirmation" that could be used as a "voucher". She claimed I could just call up in order to use this "confirmation" and the information will be on their computer. I know from another post that an airline only had two out of the four "vouchers" in their system. Does this sound right to you? I had called back Delta three other times and each time was told it is a "confirmation". You don't get a "voucher" in the mail.

they have been doing what air tran and a few others do. the confirmation is like a PNR (ressie) that has all the info stored in it. when you go to make a new ressie and then it comes to the time for form of payment you give them that "code" or confirmation and they then apply that amount towards your tkt cost. if you do not understand what I am trying to say let me know and I will try to explain it a different way. in fact usair is discussing doing this as well now.

Beverly Lynn - How long are these go for? Do you have to use them up say within a year? Just curious? We are also looking at a Delta flight. Are they good for changing their flight times? Or any other problems with Delta? Thanks for your help!

Thanks Beverly Lynn:

I do understand. I was just a little bit worried because even on the recent news reports I have heard vouchers. I know my question sounded dumb but I just wanted to check with everyone. Now I just wish that my family had more DVC points. We do not want to borrow from next years points. My parents want to do the 7 day cruise but my mother and I are having trouble convincing my father to do it in October after we will be at WDW in September. But we can dream.

it seems they are trying to do everything electronically these days to keep the cost down. they are usually good for one yr from date of issue.

Thanks again, Beverly Lynn. We are hoping to use the voucher for next year and we are "trying" to buy more tickets for October if we can convince my dad.
