Question on CSR building 9B

I love this site! My husband and I will be traveling with 2 teenagers in August and are interested in staying at the CSR.

From what I have seen, 9B seems to be the best building to stay as far as proximity to the Pepper Market, marina, bus stop, arcade, and not a far walk from the Digsite pool. If I request a room (water view) on the front side of the building, will I have a nice view of the lake? The reason I ask is that based on the maps I have seen, the smallest part of the lake seems to be in front of 9B. Do the second floor rooms have much better views than the first floor? Are there any balconies or walk-out areas with chairs?

We stayed in 9B with a water view and had a first floor room tucked back in a corner but it wasd still pretty as we got a view of the lawn and flowers, the beach and some water and then the "bridge" / walkway over to the digsite and the lights of the Casitas at night. It woulddefinately be a better view on the second floor. This hotel has all exterior corridors so there is a walkway outside your room. On the second floor you will have the walkway and then railing and then the view. There are occaisionally spots, at the moderates, on the upper floors where the walkway gets wider but I don't know if they have that in the Cabana section of CSR.

For all of those reasons 9B seems to be the favorite. We stayed there once and I won't do it again. It seems busier, what with its proximity to everything and IMO the "distances"are just way overated.

We always request the Rancho's section as they are by far the most unique and interesting of all of the areas...My opinion, of course...

cabana 9b is consider all waterview. there is a small lake on the back side and Lago Dorado on the front side.

Walking Distances
From El Centro moving clockwise around the lake path to:
Casitas 3 = .16 miles
Casitas 4 = .24 miles
Casitas 5 = .27 miles
Ranchos = .46 miles

From El Centro to the Dig Site, via the bridge near the Cabanas
= .35 miles

From El Centro moving counterclockwise around the lake to:
Cabanas 9B = .16 miles
Cabanas 9A/8B = .22 miles
Cabanas 8A = .31 miles

OR

Take the bus instead of walking
Theme park buses go:
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas
1 - El Centro

Downtown Disney buses, as well as Park Exit buses go:
1 - El Centro
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas

CSR buses go in this order so that guests can hop on board a theme park bus and take it to the main building. They can then hop on a DTD bus to get back to their rooms.
