Question on Base Tickets

Let me see if I have this straight...If I buy a 10 day base ticket and only go 5 days the other 5 are lost. They are not good at a later date correct? I would have to buy the no exp option to keep the remaining 5 days?

Without the no exp option they would have to be used within 14 days of first park admittance
