DH and I are getting all our info in line trying to understand the basics so we can decide soon how many points to buy. I spoke to a sales rep today and he is sending me an info packet. In the meantime...can someone explain to me how banking points works? Is there a limit as to how many points you can bank? And when do banked points expire?
I'm sure this has something to do with it...but what is the signifcance of the "use date" if I can borrow future points?
Sorry for all the questions...there is just too much information to try and understand upfront when you are deciding what to do.
Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the DIS/DVC Board!

Use Year is simply the time each year when your points are renewed. It also is the basis for the banking deadlines.

You can bank all of your points during the first 6 months of your Use Year, up to 50% thru 8 months and up to 25% until the end of the 9th month. The totals are cumulative- if you have already banked 50% by month 6, you cannot bank any more after that time.

Banked points cannot be rebanked and will expire at the end of the Use Year into which they were banked.

If you have a June Use Year, you can bank all points until November 30, 50% until the end of Feb and 25% until March 31. If you bank your 2003 points, thye must be used by May 31, 2005 or they will be lost.
By banking and borrowing, you can have the use of 3 years of points during one Use Year.

Enjoy!

I had to read that a few times over, but I think I've got it! Thank you for that information.
