Question on AKL Concierge

Are all concierge rooms at AKL "Deluxe" rooms. We are a family of 5 and if I were to need a deluxe room anyway, why not go concierge.

Yes- all concierge are deluxe or suites...
I've been thinking the same thing you have but, for example, the deluxe savannah rate during Value season this year is $350, while the concierge rate is $425. I have a standard savannah view room booked for this November. I am thinking of changing my ressie to DELUXE savannah view for the extra room (3 adults) and possibly upgrading at check-in to concierge, if available. My thing is that for that kind of money ($425) I want Savannah views! If I got a great rate I'd go standard but for $425 I MUST have savannah views, you know?

Aren't all concierge rooms in AKL savannah view? You are right, for that kind of money I want to see animals outside of my window.

Lisa... strangely enough concierge rooms are not guaranteed savanna view... they also have poolview concierge

Having said that, I have NEVER heard of anyone not getting the savanna view they requested, so I would not worry.

I'm sorry - I really didn't mean to sound so snobbish. Poolview is nice too. I just wouldn't want to look out over a parking lot if I were paying the price of concierge. Anyway I just started thinking about this when my youngest DS (6) decided we should stay at AKL instead of the Polynesian in Nov. Of course his older siblings (8 & 9) told him in no uncertain terms that we could visit AKL for dinner but we would be staying at the Polynesian (LOL- what do I have to look forward to when they are teens!).

Lisa ~ you didn't sound snobbish at all! I totally agree and would not be thrilled to have a poolview when the whole point is to see the animals...

Your 2 older kids don't know what they are missing!

Don't worry, you DEFINITELY will not be looking at a parking lot. I have seen photos of the pool views and they are actually quite gorgeous. I do personally want savannah but you won't have "parking lot" views.
