Question on add-on

I know this is answered somewhere, but I can't find it. We are current owners and I am looking to add on. But, I won't need my new points until May 2010- that'll be the first time we start back going with new baby. Anyway, I know I could bank them, but I would prefer to wait and just have 2009 points to use- we have an August UY. We will finance and all- when would we need to purchase by in order to get August 2009 points and how far out do you start paying for them? Our original contract is scheduled to pay off in June of 2010, but I'll pay it off sooner- at least before we have a new loan. Thanks!!

If you purchase anytime before August, 2009 you will get August 2008 points (which you could likely still bank to use from 8/1/09 - 7/31-10). If you do not want any 2008 points (and I'm not sure why you would not want those points since they won't cost you anything extra at all), you can wait and buy just before you reserve your next trip.

With an add-on you will automatically have the same Use Year as your original contract. Maintenance fees will be prorated from the date you purchase, so you will not pay any additional fees for the current 2008 points whenever you purchase. If you are going in May, 2010 you can reserve in June 2009 so as long as you have purchased prior to that time you will have the additional points to use for that trip. If you do purchase before June, 2009 you will still get the 2008 points - and that's a good thing!

Thanks! I mainly want to wait as I don't quite have the money yet. So, I am wondering what the latest would be for me to buy and still be able to use them for our May 2010 trip. So, if I buy in June and book then, I'd still get 2008 points since I'd still be in my UY, is that right?

That's right ... and you can use the points immediately after paying at least the dpwnpayment if you are financing.
