We haven't even closed our SSR purchase yet and I'm already planning for next December!

This is my question: If I want to book a 2 br for December 4-7, 2005, when does my 11 month window open? Is it January 4 or February 4?

Also, I hear so much about OKW being great for families (plus the points are less), I'm wondering if I should try to switch the reservation there at the 7 month window because we will have our children and grandchildren with us on that trip. The grandchildren are small....almost 4 & 9 mo at that point so would it even matter?

And finally, if I did want to switch, when would the 7 month window open? I know it would probably be booked, but we could waitlist if I understand it all correctly.

Your 11 month window for booking would be on Jan. 7 (it's based on the date of check-out) and the 7 month window is May 7.

I don't think that with kids that small where you are staying is a big issue. Stay where you are happiest.

I think it's pretty safe to say that any resort on WDW is great for families! And certainly all the DVC resorts. I can only imagine that you must be referring to the fact that the OKW accommodations are larger in size than comparable units at the other DVC resorts? You can't go wrong with any of them.

If you are calling for "day by day" reservations, then the first day to call for a December 4-7 stay would be January 5. Remember, it's 11 months from the check out day. You would then call on January 6 to reserve the night of December 5, etc.
