We are in the process of joining and will have enough points for typically a 1 bedroom at the DVC resorts. There are 4 of us. The boys are 12 and 14. My assumption is that the living room area has a couch that pulls out for sleeping. Is it comfortable for the boys to sleep that way. Of course mom and dad will use the bedroom. Dennis

We use a two bedroom when we travel with our daughters.

The one bedroom has a convertible sofa in the living room. Can not say how comfortable it is, but I suspect others will chime in with first hand experience.

Opinions vary greatly in this area. IMO, the pullout's are not very comfortable for an average weight adult. I think preteen's and below tend to do much better due to their smaller size and weight. I think you can count on a 2 BR when all four go, at least after your first trip in a 1 BR.

We have regularly taken trips in the one bedroom with us, DS and a buddy (both over 6 foot) from the time he was 16 through age 19. The boys were fine with the pullout.

We now tend to get a 2 bedroom not because the pullout was uncomfortable, but because we tried a 2 bedroom once, and got spoiled on the amount of space . Also boys tend to be late sleepers and late to bed and the 2nd bedroom gave us more freedom to use the livingroom.

Yes, a two bedroom is really the only way to go with two kids, let alone two big boys.

At OKW there would be some breathing room, having the living room couch pulled out in the other resorts pretty much fills the living room.

For the 4 of us, we prefer the 2 bedrooms. Like the extra bathroom and being able to use the kitchen late at night or early in the morning w/o disturbing someone.

In my experience teenagers and pre-teens can sleep on just about anything and can sleep through almost everything! :p

For practical reasons we try to get two bedrooms. Sometimes it's nice to be able to send one of them to their room! They also get to that age where they want their own space.

We have a single friend who sleeps on the pull out when we go, and she says it's quite comfortable. She is "pooh sized", not a skinny teenager. She has slept on the pullouts in OKW, BWV, and BCV.

We almost always get a 1BR when my in laws join us at either BWV or VB.

They have always used the pull out sofa, and for them it's comfortable enough...

Thanks, We only purchased 250 points so I am not sure a 2 bedroom will fit into our point schudule. If we do enjoy DVC I will add an extra 50 points sometime soon. Maybe for our first year we will give the 1 one bedroom a shot and then evaluate things for next year. You are all terrific. Dennis
