Question if you had LASIK in the past

Lots of people have vision changes as they age, and not just for reading. I can't imagine it's that unusual for yours to have changed just because you treated it differently last time.

I had the Lasek procedure done about 9 yrs ago, I was 36 yrs old. I pretty much immediately lost some near vision with the surgery, not bad enough to need readers, but definitely a difference. I have had to use reader glasses for the last two-three years (almost 46). I feel like my far vision is now getting a little worse. I never was told after my surgery what my new vision was. I have not had my eyes looked at since my post op check either. I guess it's time to go get checked out!

Interesting reading. I'm 45 and don't wear any corrective measures...glasses or contacts, I've been lucky. But age is catching up. It's near impossible for me to read a magazine anymore without holding it at arms length. I hate glasses and don't like the idea of sticking my finger in my eye for contacts. Would like to do Lasik, but don't know a ton about it. Yes, I know, I need to consult with an eye doctor, and I will.

But for those who don't mind sharing, if you've had it done recently, how much did it cost after all was said and done? What was the procedure like? How dramatic were the results (big improvement)?

I don't believe Lasik corrects this type of issue.

I had LASIK in 2000, 17 years ago next month.

I had my eyes checked about 2 years ago, and I was still 20/20

Within the last month, I've started experiencing blurriness in my left eye, and have an appointment soon. I'm kind of assuming I'll have to go back to wearing glasses sometimes It's been a good run . . .
