Question: Hilton Head in June or July?

Hi Folks. I have decided to take a 2 week trip to HH next year. I was there last year on July and absolutely loved it. Now the question is....is June much different from July or August? Any advantages/disadvantages of going in either month?

I would greatly appreciate any help.

We were there in July and it was very humid and hot 90's everyday. Pool at resort was almost to warm to be refreshing..CM dumped barrels of ice in the pool in pm to cool it off. We still had a great time, but if June is a bit less humid, I would definitly do that. And crowds would be less on the island in genereral, before July 4th. We will probably return summer 2004 with our new HHI points!

If you plan to take your two weeks beginning in June and ending up on or around July 4th, you will enjoy the advantage of an extra fireworks display. For example, next year 7-4 is on a Sunday. The summer fireworks shows are on Tuesdays. So you would have one on the Tuesday prior to the 4th, one on the 4th and one the following Tuesday, if you stayed over.

The fireworks shows are great and DVC has the best spots for viewing.

As for the weather, it should be warm, but not like late July or August.

Temps or humidity won't be that much different between June and July.

I'd go with June as liklihood of hurricanes will be less. We've gone two years without a threat of a hurricane on the SE coast, so we are due!!

The first two weeks in June are usually better weather wise with less humidity. It also seems to be less crowded on HH before June 15th. If you can go before the 10th of June you will also benefit from the lower points needed. In our opinion it is the best time of the year to visit HH.

No two ways about it, June here is hot and humid, July is scorching and humid.
