Hi! I am not a teen, but a mother of one. I wanted to get suggestions from you on what would make my DD's WDW trip more fun. She kinda feels like everything is geared more to her little bro & sis, so what can I do for her to make it more exciting? Thanks!

get her a camera. youd be surprised all the creative pictures she could take besides the generic tourist-y ones.
deffinitley do the mountains,including everest.
check out virgin records in downtown disney, or even try to see a show of cirque du soleil.
let her try out the artist drawing experience at mgm where she can learn to draw a disney character from a professional.
start a contest between who can find the most hidden mickeys.

these arent very good, but theyre something.

i could tell u one thing when i had to go on rides with younger kids like my cuz'z on the lil kid rides it was not fun and the lines for them take forever so like swich on and off like lil kid rides and then rides her age bc it seemed like the lil kid rides took the whole day

Yeah, all of Becka's suggestions are really great!
A camera...definatley. I LOVe taking pictures in WDW.
MGM is definatley alot more fun for teens. Lots of thrill rides.
And Epcot is a great place for teens as well. If she's interested, you should let her roam around innoventions for a while.
There's a place where you can take pictures & email them to people, so she could spend some time sending them to her friends.
And if she's interested in different cultures, take your time around World Showcase. I really like going around World Showcase, now that my sister & I are 16 & 18, we really enjoy just hanging out around there.

I'm sure she'll have fun no matter what you do though!!

::yes:: All those are great ideas! Pretty much like if she's older 15+ or even like 14 or whatever and you trust her let her roam the park with the camera or something. But yeah all these are great ideas! :) Good luck!

Great ideas! Thank you!:thumbsup2

I think a carmera is a good idea. I'd get her a digital one. It doesn't need to be expensive, just a cheap one that she can take loads of pictures with, without thinking about wasting film.

"Pick a pearl" from Japan or DTD. For a fee of 15$ you pick an oyster out of a tank, they shuck it and a beautiful pearl comes out. Then, for an additional fee [ranging from 25$ to 200$] you pick a setting to put the pearl in. Like a pendant, ring, etc.

It's really fun and not overly expensive.

Get her involved in the planning and ask her what she would like to do. That way she feels included rather than ignored and having to do everything her younger siblings want to do. Maybe you could also split up. Maybe your DD and you go off and do something fun together while your DH and your other kids do other things. Or vice-versa.

I'm seventeen and i love going to disney, but since im older my mom lets me help alot more with the planning for the trip, so thats a good idea..and two years my mom let me bring a friend along to come to disney with us..and we had the time of our lives! Its been a year now since we went and me and my friends still joke about the trip because we had so much fun! and i think when you have a friend there you can act more like a little kid and have fun so that will also help her to have fun with her brother and sister..me and my friend went on all the little kids rides even tho were older..its always fun to act like a little kid again! :)

if she likes plants..flowers...anything like that..even cooking, take her to the "behind the seeds" tour at the land in epcot. you get to walk in the greenhouses and see plants up close. its really cool and its only $14 a person. it only takes an hour and if you love plants or just learning in general its a great experience.

i deffinitley agree with everyone else, be sure to check out that world showcase. since she's a teen, point out to her the traditional attire you can find in china, japan, and morocco. youd be surprised what she could buy that could look fabulous even with a pair of blue jeans. they also have make-up in france as well as perfume there and in italy. let her eat her way around. try a dessert there, a little bit of "something" somewhere else.

i also agree with letting her help plan. and if she likes to be involved...even a little bit, with her siblings, let her be the one to take them to the kidcot funstops throught the park. she can help them color a mask and have one of her own. it sounds childish, but ive found it brings you a little closer to a child by doing something together.

i feel like im forgetting something totally important. i'll think of something later and feel silly xD.

::yes:: Those are really good ideas.

And if you seem to be doing all "little kid" stuff, ask her what she wants to do. So maybe spend an hour doing stuff for the younger kids, and then an hour doing what your older daughter wants to do. :)

Have a great trip! :thumbsup2
