Question for WL experts

Planning our first trip to the Lodge! We are very excited. We are going in July. My questions:

1. need a standard room near lobby/elevator. What should I request? When we were at AKL last summer our room was way out -- to the end of one of the halls. We got a laugh out of it, especially on days when we came back from the parks tired. All we could do was laugh as we walked endlessly on. This time 74 y.o mother going with us, and I know she won't make that hike.

2. How many floors does it have?

3. Is the lobby on the first floor?

4. We want a room up high, but I read somewhere that the smoking rooms are up there. Are they mixed all around or on a certain floor? (must stay away if possible due to asthma)

I am not in the habit of requesting things except for N/S. What are my chances of getting a standard room, high up, near lobby, N/S? Any suggestions?

ADisneygirl,

Hi, you are going to love Wilderness Lodge.
#1. If this is what you want request just that: Standard View Overlooking Lobby.
# 2. The lodge has 7 floors with the top (seventh floor) being the Concierge Level and it doesn't extend all the way out on both of the wings.
# 3. The beautiful Lobby is actually located on the second floor.
# 4. All the smoking rooms are located on the 6th floor North Wing and are all together so even the hallway can be avoided.

You souldn't have any trouble getting what you requested, just be sure to request all that you would like when making your reservations as the WL no longer acceptes Fax'ed request.

Don't be surprised if you recieve an upgrade...

I have been reading the WL frequently asked questions thread -- I am up to page 22.

An upgrade would be nice We were upgraded at the AKL last summer. It was quite unexpected but appreciated.

Does anyone know of a link to a map of the WL showing room locations? Thanks.

WL is not as "spread out " as AK. No room is really that far from lobby & food venues. My most important request is bed type(2 queens or bunks) and Non-smoking. Have fun.

You can try this map but it doesn't realy show room locations:Wilderness Lodge & Villas Resort Map

Sorry but if you use it with the room information posted on page one of the WL FAQ it will make everything more clear.
