Hope this is the right place to ask this.

I'm a fairly new Vistana owner and am wondering how to go about renting my week. I own a two bedroom in Cascades, floating week. I will be going on a Disney cruise in 2004 and would rather rent my week out.

Do you rent it yourself or use an agency? Also what would a good rate be?

Thanks for any feedback.

Lynn

We've rented our week on our own only. What I did was call the resort and find out what they were getting for the 7 nights and we decided upon a number less than that. The rental ended up covering our annual maintenance fee. Our friends were happy and we were happy!

I know Vistana will do it for you but they will take a cut of the rental as a service fee. Better call them and find out exactly how much they want for that this year.

Lynn - I might be interested!!! I'm on the opposite end of you - I want to rent a place for a week in 2004 (for my honeymoon) and don't want to get ripped off. Never done this before!

One great place to rent your unit is http://www.tug2.net/, the Timeshare Users Group.

We've never rented our week, only traded it, but I know lots of people who have found rentals there and who have satisfied.

I also might be interested Lynn. My family and I are coming to WDW in January and are looking for a place to rent for the week. If it is not yet rented, please respond and I will be in touch...thanks.
