Hi! We will be making our first trip to Vero Beach following 6 days at BWV next month. This may be a silly question, but is it necessary to bring large beach towels to Vero Beach? I know that I don't need them for BWV, and there are four of us so it does take up some major room in the suitcases, but if I do need them at Vero I don't want to leave them at home. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Lisa

We just got back from Vero. No, you do not need to bring beach towels. The pools are by the pool and they can be used on the beach or poolside. You will love the slide there, so have a good time.

You don't need to bring beach towels unless you want them to lie on the beach. The available towels are like the ones you get at the WDW pools. You can rent chairs and chaises. (Maybe you'll want to buy Vero towels as souveniers?)

I am taking my first trip to Vero Beach next month. Can you tell me more about the beach chair and chaise lounge rental. Am I correct in assuming this is only at the beach and not at the pool. Are the rentals from Disney or some beach vendor? Aren't the beaches open to the public? Are they very crowded? Do you recall the price of chair rentals? Do they also rent Umbrellas?

Thanks,

I haven't got the price details on the chair rentals (they do have umbrellas also). It is for the beach. I think it's probably a private contractor Disney has hired to run it. There is a boardwalk and steps to the Disney beach and that's where the rental is located. The Florida beaches are all open to the public to walk on.

We rented a cabana and 3 chairs this past december. the rental is for the entire day, and the CM set things up where we wanted. It was about $20 for the day. Well worth it to us both for sun and wind protection - - a slight cold snap had hit and we wanted to spend the day on the beach. Families head out in the morning with toys, books, and picnics and use the cabana as a "home base." Towels are also available on the beach, no charge.

DVC members get a discount on the rental items.

Although the beach is public, there is nothing on either side of the resort for some distance, so the beach is a de facto private beach

I am leaving Fiday with my family for our 3rd trip to VB. I will try to post an update from the balcony overlooking the beach. We have never had a problem with beach towels.

Not being a beach person I didn't lie on the beach, but walking along the beach at sunrise was a great feeling. The resort is great.
