i am going to book pc for all or half of my stay thing about a split my question is can i request and likely get a king and double double connecting room i dont want a disabled king id rather save it for someone who needs it btw we are staying in the preferred 60s building smoking optional.

That kind of request will be VERY difficult to grant.

Building 4 has six standard king bed rooms (all of which connect to a standard double). I know at least one is smoking optional. Don't know about the others.

Building 5 has twenty four accessible king bed rooms (all of which connect to a standard double). Not sure if any of these are smoking optional rooms. (these rooms will have showers, but no tub)

I'd recommend prioritizing the requests, and requesting them at time of booking, 4 days out, and again when you check in. The earlier in the day that you check in will provide you with the best chance, but still not guaranteed.

Hi Guys
I have the opposite question. We have booked the PC for 3/31-4/3 over my daughters 5th b-day and my 35 (she was my 30th B-day present). We are going with family and have requested a preferred room connecting to each other. DD is very light sleeper so we need a quiet room but granny is disabled and cannot walk long distances so the closest to the bus stop and classic hall & parking would be best. We were going to get a disabled room for granny but were told only had king size bed and we do need the two doubles so xlled the disabled room. Can you tell my family is very high maintenance?LOL! So the question actually is what building and/or rooms would be best. I really appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.:earsgirl:

I personal recommend a room in either building 4 (playdoh) rooms ending in 13 - 36 this would provide the quietest area for your daughter, and it would still face the main building where the bus stops and everything else are. Or in building 5 (Baloo & Mowgli) rooms ending in 37 - 60. Yet again these rooms face away from the pool (quieter) and yet you can still see the main building for easy access. After that try and get into a connecting room in that area, so on and so forth. Anywho as it's been recommended after you establish where you'd like to be more exactly, make requests when booking, 4 days prior to check in, and even at check-in. You can fax your requests to the resort 4 days prior [(407) 938-4040]. Hopefully that helps somewhat, have a great day! :0) pirate:

I see that it is suggested that I call 4 days before arrival to reconfirm request. Should I call the WDW reservation line or the Pop Century directly? Thank you.

Thanks so much. I will do just as you suggest. Thanks !!

Actually, we DO have some disability accessible double rooms. These rooms have two standard double beds, but feature hand rails and stuff in the bathrooms to make it easier for those who might need it. I believe (but am not 100% sure) they have a fold down bench for the tub/shower as well. However, unlike the disability king bed rooms, these do not feature the roll in wheelchair accessible shower. All of these rooms DO connect to a standard double room. We have 115 of these rooms.

Unfortunetly, building 4 does not have any, and building 5, aside from one room, they are on the further side of the building. Building 1 (50's A) would be a better choice, IMHO. That building will have 16 rooms... 4 on each floor.

On a side note, at Pop Century, we do have a limited number of wheelchairs that can be borrowed for the length of stay. It's free of charge, and you can take it on the buses, and to the parks with you.

Thanks so much for the info. I was even switched to the "people" who handle disabled booking(?) and they called me back a couple of times to try and work it out . No one ever mentioned that double bed disabled rooms existed, only the King. Oh well. We have already gone with preferred room and mom says she can handle it. If I ask for certain building numbers they will know what i am asking for? The resort map I saw only had building A or B on it marking the building. There are elevators correct? Last question promise. Thanks again so much. You guys rock! as Kim Possible would say :) ok I lied on e more. Does Pop century do anything for kids birthdays? Thanks

Building 5 (60's B) will have the disability double rooms with the handrails in the shower. Building 4 will not. If you ask the Front Desk person checking you in, they will know the building numbers better than the whole A/B thing. I really dislike how they did that with the A/B. All CM's refer to them as numbers, and all the maps have A/B on them. So now we have guests coming up to us, "How do we get to Building A?" Well... there's 5 of 'em... Which decade?

Oh well...
