Just curious how you all cash in your Cash Back bonus money. Do you normally get a Discover gift card or do you get a gift card special when you see one you want?

TIA! :)

I usually get the bookstore gift card when it is a special deal.

i use the specials - spend 20 points and get 25 for lands end - or use 40 for a 100 hyatt certificate - but sometimes i use the points to put on my account balance - look over all of the offerings -

Get gift cards to go out to dinner.

I also apply it towards the balance. I look at the offers they have but have never found something I can use. Or if there is something there interests me, the terms are usually too restrictive.

I used to always just have the amount credited to my statement. Figured it was like an extra payment. But then I realized that they had $45 CVS gift Certificates for $40. And I had been doing the CVS thing. So I realized getting the GC was like getting a $5 coupon. I would never not use a $5 coupon. So that is what I"ve been doing since. I always check it out and see if there is anything else with a better bonus that I might use. And then that way I can really say CVS'ing doesn't cost me anything because all of my out of pocket goes on the GC.

Restaurant gift cards for the same reason as the pp stated. It's great to get an additional $5 for every gc that you pick! :goodvibes

Last time I used my cash back towards purchasing 10 day park hopper passes for the 4 of us. Charged the tickets on Discover and applied the $$ toward it - at the time it was about $900 cashback. I haven't 'redeemed' my cashback since then (about 2.5 years ago) and now it's about $450. I usually just get the cash or apply it towards the balance which is paid in full every month.

Thanks, everyone. I'm trying to decide how I want to use the Cash Back money. It's interesting to hear what you all do. :)

I'm a big lands end shopper, so I go for the spend $40 get $50 cashback.

I used to just do the credit to my account.

herc.

I wait until I am at $25 or $50. Then I order the Discover gift card and go to disneygiftcard.com and buy a Disney gift card with it. That way, it is still Disney money and I can pick my own gift card design.

I used mine to renew my Sam's club membership and got a $10 gift card to use as well!! I believe the $40 card to renew membership can also be used as a regular gift card there if you are not ready to renew.

Same here. Lands End - or if there is nothing we need, then credit to acct.

I have mine sent to an account that is strictly for vacations. It really adds up since we charge everything we possibly can on it and pay it off each month.

hmm. I've been using mine to get gift cards for Bath + Body Works or something like that as a "treat" to myself. I didn't know I could use the rewards to get a Disney Gift Card.
Thanks!

I get a variety of GC. It depends upon my mood. Usually Borders.

But this time I got the Regal Cinema's Gift Pack of two tickets and a $5 GC.

When we were going to disney had it disbursed to my savings account so I could have a little extra spending money in Disney.

We usually order gift cards and use them for birthday/Mother's Day/Christmas gifts. We get the cards, not the paper certificates, because the certificates usually say "Discover Cash Back Bonus" on them and it would be tacky to gift that! But the cards don't say that on them and look like regular gift cards.
