How do you get from one resort to the other with all of your luggage if you swap resorts mid-trip and don't have a car??

I can't imagine hauling our bodies and all of our stuff onto a bus bound for the parks, then unloading at the transportation hub and reloading onto another resort bus?!

We've made 3 trips without a car (driving ruins the relaxing feel of the vacation to me) and switched resorts a few times:

- pack up, call bell services & have them transfer the luggage to your new resort for you (keep your valuables / park necessities / swim suits with you) They'll tell you your bags will be there by 4pm, I've found them transferred by noontime in most cases.
- Take disney transport to nearest park or DTD (you can choose to spend time in the park and check in later, or I prefer to get the room bit squared away asap)
- Transfer to bus to new resort & check in (many times a room will be available, if not store your valuables in their safe & pay $1 for a locker by the pool for your bag) Call Bell services to bring your bags to your room once you have one and have verified it's what you expected.

Not hard, done it many times with only one issue - they broke the wheel off my daughter's case (which they had repaired before we left)

It's a great way to experience as many Disney resorts as possible without the worry of tugging luggage all over the world.

Agree Disney does all the work for you.

We found it easiest just to bring all our luggage to the front of hte hotel, hail a taxi and drive over with our luggage. The cost from CSR to Pop was $12-15 plus tip.

Quick, easy and no worries about our luggage getting lost.

I JUST got off the phone with a CM after having to make a reservation for one night prior to our already-made reservation since my husband will no longer be able to meet us in FL with his car. So, I needed a night at a Disney hotel so that my girls and I could take the Magical Express from MCO to Disney. We are already staying at the BC, but I wanted the cheapest room for the night before. So I called and the CM offered me the All-Stars Music. I have been around the boards a while, as well as stayed at Disney many times (but none having to change rooms on Disney's nickel, as it were). So I thought I was sort of playing dumb by saying, "So, will Disney be able to transfer our luggage for us, or how does that work?" The CM said, "Well, there is no bus that goes form a resort to a resort, so the best thing would be for you to take a bus to a theme park and then to your new hotel." I said, "Oh, I don't mean how would "I" get there, I mean, how would our luggage get there?" And the CM said, "What do you mean." I said, "I mean, does Disney transfer our luggage for us?" and she said, "Oh, no. Only if you were transferring from one room in the resort to another, or maybe if you were staying in the Yacht Club and wanted to transfer your stuff to the Beach Club they might do it then, but, NO, they are not going to move your stuff from the All Stars to the Beach Club. " At that point I just said, "Oh, well, that doesn't really matter, I am sure we will just have one rolling bag each. I am sure we can manage." But I am sure hoping that this particular CM was just plain, how should I put it, WRONG!!!!!

That is what I was worried about. Years ago I was told they would NOT transfer our stuff from the Pop to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Hmmmm, now I wonder??? We will be there a week and are from Oregon and there are 3 of us so we will likely have a lot of stuff. I may just stick with the Taxi idea as it's faster and affordable.

Agreed,

I think I may just do the taxi thing myself. Going form the All Stars Music to the BC, does anyone have a ballpark figure?

Taking the taxi seems like a lot of extra work to me. We have changed resorts on several trips and it is VERY EASY.

1. Call bell services as soon as you are packed up. They usually come pretty quickly.

2. Go to DTD or a close park and change to the new resorts bus.

3. Check in at the new hotel.

4. Go have fun.

We have never had a problem.

We've used bell services to transfer our luggage between Disney resorts on our last 2 trips (2005 & 2007). No problem at all. The values do not have bell services, which may be causing some of the confusion. You can still arrange with the resort to have your luggage sent to your next resort however.

The values do not have bell services

All of the All Star Value resorts have full bell service. It's located in the main registration lobby of each resort. They bring your bags to your room and pick them up from your room and offer full luggage storage and Magical Express pick-up.
