Has anybody out there been to an actual taping of the Christmas parade? I was just wondering if it is fun or is it something that is not a big deal to miss. I have heard that since they tape the parade to show a few weeks later, everything has to look perfect and it is not unusual to stop everything and backtrack until they get it right.
Let me know you thoughts please

It is a very long and drawn out process. It is not like they are taping the parade from start to finish. They will bring one float out and do a couple of shots, as if it is in the parade, then back up and do it again and again. Then that float will leave and another float will be brought out. It takes almost 2 full days (sometimes 3) to get everything filmed the way they want it. Personally I would say if you want to have the experience plan for some time there but don't plan for the entire time (especially if you have little ones) as it can be very time consuming and sometimes very boring.

I agree with the above post. It was cool to get in early though. You have the place to yourself as you are let in at 7:00 AM. We made sure to get on camera, watched a few floats, the left to walk around a deserted park. When we went, it was the friday of the week after thanksgiving. They left a voicemail at our room at the poly, saying the taping was for resort guests only. We knew nothing about it the day before.

They have about 20-30 people that DISNEY has fill up the front row. Dont know if there paid or what but they tell you must stay behind them. Then when there ready to do the filming in that section they start asking people walking by. We did one part on the left side of Main ST and then later in the day we did one back by the castle. Its funny being on Main St during the filming. Cause about out of no where the music starts playing. And this goes on all day long.

Is the regular "Share a Dream Come True" Parade cancelled on these days due to the filming, or do they go on as usual?

I was there 2 years ago and they ran it at 4:00. Then they backed up Spectro & Fireworks by an hour also.
