Ok a couple quick questions for those that have been in the past to MTOTP:

1.) Do they give you a bag or something to put your candy into upon entering the park for the event.......or should we bring something to hold candy?

2.) We have tickets to go on Wednesday October 22nd and we were wondering if it would be safe to let our teen daughters go in alone (a group of 4) or should we escort them for their saftey?

3.) We are staying at the GCH and we were wondering if the entrance from the GCH into DCA will be open for this event or if we will have to use the front gates? We woul dlike to kow this one for sure because if we decide to let our daughters go by themselves to the event we want to walk them to the entrance and make sure they get in safe as well as meet them at the end and walk back with them to the room.

I really appreciate any replies as it will be a big help.:cheer2:

We are Disneyland Vet's and have AP's but have never been during this event
so I knew I needed to come to the DIS boards to ge6t some input from other DIS families that have had an opportunity to attend this event.

Once again thanks so much for your replies.

Yep they hand you a bag once you go through the turnstyles...at first I thought it wasnt that big but it held a TON of candy...

oh yeah I would definitely let them go at it alone..I would just set up boundary rules that they dont leave the park unless they are going into GC..its perfectly fine..they will love that:goodvibes

I cant answer this for fact but I would assume if you are staying in GC that they will let you go in from the hotel...in fact Im sure of it...they just may not let you past the checkpoints until they do rope drop...

1) Bring an extra bag. We filled up the bags they gave three times over.

2) Can't answer, I have tweens.

3) The GCH entrance/exit is not open for the event - this is from our experience last year.

wth??? you mean if your staying at GC you have to go out and all the way around to the front gates?? thats ridiculous *snorts*

Last year i exited through GC.... i'm not sure about entering cause we didn't stay there, but we did exit cause we had 2 tired kids and it was a close exit to our hotel!

Hopefully it will be easy to enter and to exit via the hotel.

You can get more candy than you can possibly imagine. Btw, they also have packets of carrot sticks and apples available if you / they are looking for a healthy option. Very cool of Disney, in my opinion.

Thanks so much for the replies so far :goodvibes they have been very helpful.

I am hoping at least the girls will be able to exit through the GCH when it is over....that would be nice seeing as how it will be late and I am sure they will be tired......plus it will be a shorter distance forus to go to meet up with them after.

My wife reminded me that we did exit through the GCH exit but had to enter at the main gate, we were staying at PPH. My bad, I was still hopped up on pain meds from surgery I had the week (actually 10 days) before I went to the event. I do remember all the candy though.....

Hm, I wonder if one can receive candy and fruit? that way, one can have a proper dietary balance, ya know! :) ;) he he!

Definitely!! We loved that they gave both and we happily took both. :)
