Question for those requesting a $50 credit from your TA

I spoke with my TA about the $50 credit and she stated that was only if someone referred me-she said thats what the "REF" stands for-she said some kind of "referral card" was necessary-did you all have something like that? I am just curious---what did you so to get the credit?

I asked my TA with AAA to call DCL and tell them I was a first-time cruiser and ask for the "REF" code credit. They immediately applied a $25 shipboard credit for us. This was without a card.

Today I received a card from a kind CC member and took it to my TA-she called DCL back, told them I had a card and the amount was changed from $25 to $50.

We are doing cruise only. There has been discussion on previous threads about the exact $$ amount and whether it applied to cruise only or land/sea packages.

If you are a FIRST TIME CRUISER on DCL you can definitely get the credit without the postcard, but it is not combinable with any other credit and not available on all sailings. Have your TA call DCL and try to add the credit just with the code.

Good luck! :)

As soon as I read about this on the board, I emailed my TA at DU and she emailed me that she had called DCL and had the $50 credit applied to my reservation, no problem. I just gave her the info from the board about being a first time cruiser and the REF code.

A follow-on question...

Ok, questions...

First, if I booked directly through DCL, can I get the first time cruiser discount?

Second, what is this code that I keep hearing about? Is it required to receive the discount?

TIA,
Jim

I called AAA and asked my travel agent to try and get this $50.00 credit applied. She called me yesterday and said that DCL told her she needed some type of code. I quickly reviewed the post here and told her REF. She called back and told me it worked. We know have a $50.00 on board credit thanks to everyone here for posting that tip!

No post card or referral here!
It was simple...read about it on the board - called our TA @Cruise411, she called Disney and had $50 applied to each of our 5 cabins and redid our contracts with the credit applied :)

Cool deal. I'd seen a couple threads on this, but they were kind of lengthy and A.D.D. started to kick in ;)

I just called my travel agent, but forgot he was out of town for the week :( Oh well, I'm assuming this will still be running when he gets back next week. Did the other thread (couldn't find it) ever verify whether this would work on the land/sea package??

I myself (Not TA) called DCL last week and they said they would apply the credit. I have already paid in full thru TA. So will I get a refund or will it be a stateboard credit?

TA doesn't even know I called, should I inform her or does it even matter.

My TA has been trying to get either the DC credit or the REF credit for my April cruise and DCL will not budge. Refuse to do it since my cruise is booked to capacity.

:-)

wdwo

oh well ...

As I mentioned in another post, just keep trying. If you are a 1st time DCL Cruiser, you can get the $50 credit. Just tell them it's the REF code.

I tried several times, each time getting a different DCL operator. After several different versions of "no", I called and got someone who applied it - no questions asked. I know it doesn't make any sense, but it really depends on the operator you get.

WDWO, I am also going on an April cruise that's full and just got my $50 credit added on Friday. Just keep trying until you get a "yes". That seems to be what everyone else is doing, and it works.

Good luck!!!
