We have been tossing around the idea of getting broadway tickets for Phantom of the Opera as a Christmas for DH, myself, and DSs. Ideally we would like to go to the matinee on the Wednesday after Christmas. We would drive into the city for the day from Pennsylvania.
DH found them on the Internet for approximately $80 but $16 service charge each making them $96.

My question is (okay 2 questions ;) ):

Can we call the box office, pay for them by credit card, and pick them up at will call eliminating the huge service charge?

Have Phantom of the Opera tickets been available to buy the morning of the show at TKTS in Times Square? I do understand that is taking a bit of a risk though.

Thanks for any information!

I dont think I would take the chance of TKTS having tickets on the Wednesday after Christmas...the city is pretty crowded with people that time of year and they may not have much selection.

I second April. The week after Christmas is prime tourist season with people visiting from all over the word to see Christmas in the City and to be present for the Ball drop in Times Square. If it were any other week I would say go for it. But that particular week, don't take the chance. Buy your tickets in advance.

And yes you can purchase and pickup your tickets at the boxoffice and avoid the service charge. Again call in advance.

Enjoy your Christmas in the City!

Thanks for the information. DH is calling as I post!
